Growing up in Geelong in Victoria and fishing the wharves and jetties of Port Phillip bay and the coast from Point Lonsdale to Apollo bay and Portland. Becoming an avid flyfisherman in the mid eighties during a 14 yr stint on Groote Eylandt, winning a number of light tackle and flyfishing tournaments throughout the top end. Alan has spent the last 15 years guiding fishermen all over the Pacific from Fiji to Papua New Guinea and all over the top end of Australia.
