The “goldy” as it sometimes affectionately called is prolific along the Weipa shoreline. And sometimes showing up in large schools providing a fun target for both fly fishing and the conventional spinfisherman. Most of the bigger specimens however are taken jigging soft plastics or with live baits on the offshore reefs.
