Fishing Charters

Without doubt the best variety of species and most diverse fishery anywhere in the country. Come fishing in Weipa.

Over the last 34 years I have fished and lived in some of the remotest parts of Australia and the South pacific, and have found nowhere that is as consistently as good as Weipa.

Prevailing South easterly winds blowing offshore for 9 months of the year and so many different species to target, there is always something to keep the keen angler busy and interested. With a myriad of different species available to both fly and lure our fishing trips strive to make your fishing holiday a memorable one. From chasing GT’s and queenies on poppers to finessing a permit or a blue bastard to eat your crab fly in a foot of water, or casting lures in the river trying to tempt a barramundi, it is all available. Our custom fitted vessels experienced and knowledgeable guides make sure you will have an exciting and awesome holiday. Fly fishing to lure casting to live bait fishing we have all of the expertise and background required to ensure your fishing holiday will also be a valuable learning experience.

We operate between April and Nov and during that time for the last 12yrs have lost just 3 days to weather which would be unheard of anywhere else.

The expansive estuary systems and blue water environment all within easy access of your luxurious lodge allow for both comfort and remoteness.

After operating his own guiding business in Hervey bay for almost ten years, Bargy sold up and came to Weipa in 2010 and hasn’t looked back since.  Having an intimate knowledge of the area its rare you go back to the ramp empty handed after spending the day with him. An equally passionate hunter, you won’t find Bargy without a rod or rifle in his hands on a day off.
